This project was acoustic (popcorn) ceiling texture removal and painting of ceilings and walls. The majority of the ceilings where unpainted and came off relatively dust free with the process. The hallway, however had been previously sprayed with an acrylic latex which makes the process significantly dusty. For the unpainted areas, plastic protecting the flooring and counters was all that was required. For the painted ceilings, the area was completely sealed off. Its advisable to have your walls painted at the same time texture removal is done so the ceiling/wall creases can be prepared for amazing crisp lines.

The project process

1. Secure and protect area to be scraped
2. Water mist unpainted ceilings/ direct scrap painted ceilings
3. Scrap off all texture
4. Pole sand ceilings with vacuum attachment
5. Two coats primer
6. skim coat all ceiling/wall creases and where required
4. Pole sand ceilings with vacuum attachment
5. One coat of Benjamin Moore Ultra-matte ceiling paint
6. DryDex patch any imperfections missed by skim coating.
7. Pole sand patches with vacuum attachment
8. Spot prime patches
9. Final coat coat of Benjamin Moore Ultra-matte ceiling paint
10. Paint walls!
